Sketching in Nature
Description
Join us in the Ashburton Domain for a relaxed afternoon of sketching in nature. Whether you’re an experienced artist or haven’t picked up a pencil in years, this is an opportunity to explore your surroundings, notice the small details, and enjoy the simple pleasure of drawing outdoors.
Drawing in nature can be a calming and meditative practice, helping us to pause, focus our attention and be present in the moment.
This free event is part of Mental Health Awareness Week and explores Take Notice, one of the Five Ways to Wellbeing. It is organised by Keep Learning Mid Canterbury & the Ashburton Art Gallery & Museum. Registrations are essential.
We will meet in the Art Gallery where you'll receive all the materials you need. Then we will head out into the Domain nearby. Instruction and guidance, if required, will be provided by Art Gallery staff member Katie Graham. Please bring a chair if you need one.
