    Event description

An initiative of the Tourism Industry Council Tasmania, Skilled in Sixty is a webinar series designed to deliver 60-minute, bite-sized information sessions on topics that matter to Tassie tourism operators.

10-Step Guide to Best Practices in Sustainable Tourism

As the climate crisis worsens and travellers’ expectations continue to change as a direct result, tourism businesses around the world are racing to better understand their impact, firm up their ESG commitments, and transition to more sustainable technologies and practises. You too may be seeking new ways to adapt your business so that it can remain resilient into the future.

In this session join the TICT’s Lauren Cameron - Australia’s first dedicated Carbon Action Advisor working for a tourism industry body - as she guides you through the 10 practical steps to ensuring your tourism business is being managed in an environmentally and socially responsible way. Among other things, Lauren will cover how to measure & manage your impact, how to bring your staff on the sustainability journey, and how to manage your climate risk as a tourism business – in simple terms.

This session is FREE for TICT Accredited Operators and Members, and a small $25 fee for non-accredited operators.

Press the 'Get Tickets' button now to register (please have your TICT accreditation or member number ready).

About the facilitator: Lauren is working with more than 100 Tasmanian tourism business, as well as government, destination management organisations, and key stakeholders to support our tourism industry to reduce emissions and transition to practises that equally benefit businesses, local communities and the environment.
