Event description

An initiative of the Tourism Industry Council Tasmania, Skilled in Sixty is a webinar series designed to deliver 60-minute, bite-sized information sessions on topics that matter to Tassie tourism operators.

AI is not just for tech giants — it is now an everyday tool for Tasmanian tourism operators ready to save time, reduce admin and deliver faster, better service. In this practical 60-minute workshop, SCALA's leadership strategist, Steve Wiggers, shows you exactly how ChatGPT can start working for your business — today.

The session will cover the general background of AI and where we are at today, and then lead into tools such as:

Marketing & Content Creation

• Write social media posts, blogs, and newsletters with AI

• Create visitor stories, itineraries, or taglines using prompts

• Translate marketing materials for international visitors

• Generate images or visuals of tourism experiences

Customer Experience & Communication

• Use chatbots to answer FAQs or take bookings

• Automate pre-arrival and post-stay emails or messages

Operations & Productivity

• Use AI for rostering, scheduling, and stock management

• Try voice assistants for hands-free help

• Transcribe meetings or notes automatically

Data & Insights

• Analyse customer reviews and feedback using AI tools

• Track sentiment and online reputation trends

• Identify areas to improve based on guest feedback patterns

There will be time for Q&A at the end of the presentation.

**This session is free for all TICT accredited and member businesses, or at a cost of $25 per registration for all others.
