Skinny (Homecoming show + Q&A)
Event description
Michelle Pearson brings her multi-award-winning cabaret/theatre work Skinny home following a triumphant Off-Broadway debut in New York and a 5-star Edinburgh season. This bold and inspirational show has resonated with audiences around the world in 2025, and now hometown audiences will have the chance to experience it in a special one-night event.
Skinny is a funny, fearless, and deeply moving exploration of society’s toxic obsession with body image and the impossible pursuit of “perfection.” Through powerhouse vocals, candid storytelling, and interviews of real subjects, Michelle invites audiences to reflect and confront the extraordinary things we do to our bodies in the name of beauty.
“Humour, powerhouse vocals and raw honesty make this a must-see show.”
★★★★★ Lothian Life, Edinburgh 2025
For this hometown performance, Michelle reunites with her original collaborators – co-writer and musical director Aaron Nash on keys, alongside Michael Ciaramella (bass), Briohny Taylor (cello), and Sam Millar (drums). Together, they bring a fresh take on the show, reworked and refined since its debut in at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival in 2024 and short season at the Adelaide Fringe in 2025.
The evening will conclude with a special Q&A, offering audiences the chance to dive deeper into the creative journey, the themes of the show, and the lived experiences that inspired it.
