Skyglass trio perform a concert of original music in Walhalla's historic Gold Mine, in the Victorian Alps just 180km east of Melbourne. A great addition to your Easter weekend getaway in historic Walhalla.

From contemplative soundscapes to driving polyrhythms, these instrumentalists incorporate sung and spoken word into engaging performances that explore the fragility of existence.

Emily Sheppard (violin)
Yyan Ng (guitar)
Anne Norman (shakuhachi - bamboo flute)

Bringing together influences of western classical, Celtic folk, Japanese Zen and finger-style acoustic steel string, Emily, Anne and Yyan wend beautiful melodies and fabulous harmonies. Skyglass recently performed to sold-out audiences beneath the stalactites of Hastings cave in Tasmania and at the Cygnet folk festival, receiving a standing ovation. This is their first gig in a Gold Mine! An exciting place for acoustic music.

There is plenty of parking at the Long Tunnel Extended Gold Mine. Drive up the narrow road to the mine entrance. Get there in plenty of time to don a helmet and walk along the underground tunnel to the old Machinery Chamber where the concert is held.

The performance starts at 5 30pm and ends at 6 30pm. Please be there 20 mins beforehand. The audience will then be directed back along the tunnel and out. Nothing like a bit of underground music to end the day.

All audience members must be double vaccinated. Please bring a mask to wear.

Accessibility details:
It is flat walking 280 metres into the tunnel. Dress warmly and wear suitable footwear in case of dampness underfoot.

Bring a print-out of your ticket in case you are unable to access tickets on your phone (There is only Telstra reception in Walhalla). See you underground!
