Slamtidote Poetry Party is back, with a spooky little twist.

This Halloween, we're bringing poetry, music, visual art, theatre and community together for a night of creative expression at The Angry Dog, a cosy dive bar within walking distance of Southern Cross, North Melbourne and Flagstaff stations.

And if you feel like dressing up for Halloween, do it! 👻

Be in the same room as like minded people, gettinf to know each other!

🖋️ POETRY OPEN MIC

Poetry will be at the heart of the night.

Our open mic will take up most of the evening, with our lovely MCs creating a warm, welcoming and supportive space for poets to share their work.

MCed by Annie and Dheer, its gonna be fun!

All lovers of poetry are welcome.

Whether you're bringing something you've been working on for months, scribbling something on the tram on the way over, or simply want to listen, there's a place for you here <3

🎭 DELIRIA: A SPECIAL POETIC STAGE PLAY

7:30 PM

Something we've been working on for the last couple months, is gonna be shown at this next event: drum roll... a poetic stage play!

DELIRIA is a poetic stage play exploring the deep inner workings of the human mind. It delves into the thoughts, contradictions, memories, fears and strange inner worlds that exist beneath the surface.

Co-written by Yasi, Lian Cabe, Thabani Tshuma and Asalemo Tofete, and produced by Slamtidote, Deliria brings poetry and theatre together in a collaborative performance, with live musical accompaniment by Lev on keyboard.

This is a one off very special moment of the Slamtidote crew pushing our creative boundaries and experimenting with poetry!

Live painting by Anastasia

A friend of the community, come meet Anastasia, and watch her canvas transform throughout the night as Anastasia creates a live artwork alongside the performances.

And if watching isn't enough...

✂️ ARTS & CRAFTS TABLE

Our arts table will be set up at the front throughout the night.

Make something. Draw something. Write something. Add to the collective chaos.

You don't need to consider yourself an artist. It's there for you to express yourself, should the inspiration comes to u!

We'll also have live music throughout the evening, featuring:

Morrow, a naarm based Singer song writer, serenading you at 9pm

Lev & Isaac

Keyboard and guitar musical accompaniment to the poetry open mic!

Expect a night where poetry, music and performance can flow into one another.
