Sleepover at The Leeds Library
Event description
The leeds Library on Commercial Street, Leeds, is a haven for readers, writers, and booklovers. Founded in 1768, its forever home in the heart of the city centre dates from 1808.
Housing a growing collection of 140,000 books, the Leeds Library Sleepover—back by popular demand—is your chance to immerse yourself in the library’s unique atmosphere, its labyrinth of shelves and book cases, galleries, and basement. And who knows —one or other of our friendly spooks might put in an appearance.
A full tour of the building is included. Other optional activities include a film screening, creative writing prompts, a telling of the Leeds Library ghost story, and a look at some of the treasures of the collection.
Those attending the sleepover will need to bring a sleeping bag, pillows, and anything you can carry to keep you comfy during your stay. Hot drinks and snacks will be provided, and you would be welcome to bring your own food (you will have access to a microwave and fridge) or arrange for hot food to be delivered during your stay. You will also have access to a kitchen with glasses, plates, knives & forks etc., although there are currently no cooking facilities.
Tickets are limited to age 18+ only.
