Pink Ponies Present: SLEIGH
Event description
Ho Ho Horsey! The holidays are just around the corner, so its time to get your stockings stuffed with the Pink Ponies. Strap on your season's finest, and get ready to SLEIGH all night long. The holiday season is cherished by many of us (Christmas is SO gay) and despised many others (Fuck Christmas), so this is an event where you can express whatever you want about Santa, the Hannukah miracle, the Kwanzaa candles, or Amazon Prime Day. Don ye now your gayest apparel: our dreidels will spin wildly for your queer & kinky interpretations of a holiday party. We're also partial to pink :)
On December 1, we'll be climbing down the chimney at Rainbow City: dancing in the main room--and chilling in the back--from 9pm-3am. We have a huge package of talent ready for you to unwrap. We've enlisted four of our favorite reinDeerJs (Remy D, Chelsea Starr, Sammy Taylor, and JRx) to deliver a holly-jolly mix of high-energy house & disco music. We also asked Mariah, and all she wanted for Christmas was Lala Benét, Shandi Evans, and Max & Mars to perform onstage in Portland. Joy to the world, our party has come!
All proceeds from our December 1 event will go to Cascade AIDS Project. December 1 is World AIDS Day, and we wanted to recognize an organization that provides crucial services to people affected by HIV, LGBTQ+ people, as well as other vulnerable communities. Your Hosts:
Pink Ponies are a collection of queer-identifying campers at Burning Man. (For more on this amazing event, and it’s guiding principles check out burningman.org). We celebrate randomness and playfulness in this weirdly joyful community. We oppose all forms of racism, sexism, transphobia, homophobia, ableism, and ageism. We are a nonprofit organization, and no one in the camp receives compensation from any of our events. All proceeds from our events go towards building a vibrant and inclusive queer community, both on and off the playa. This includes building our nonprofit nightlife infrastructure, supporting important causes, and investing in queer artists. We believe that music, dancing, drag, and fashion are important components of a thriving community, and we offer our time & energy as gifts to our queer siblings and allies. Our intention for all of our events is to blend together the best attributes of Burning Man and queer culture: ethical creative expression, sex positivity, and gender fluidity, all experienced against the backdrop of radical inclusion, open minds, and enthusiastic consent.
