Explore slide guitar, fingerpicking, rhythm and expression with Paul Davies.

Join singer-songwriter and guitarist Paul Davies for an intimate, hands-on exploration of slide guitar and fingerpicking after his performance.

A self-taught guitarist, Paul has developed a distinctive playing style inspired by the traditions of the Mississippi Delta, blending blues, folk, country and ragtime with fingerpicked guitar and slide.

In this relaxed workshop, Paul will share the techniques that shape his sound, from the fundamentals of slide guitar, tunings and phrasing to the fingerpicking style that sits at the heart of his playing. Rather than treating the two techniques separately, Paul will demonstrate how fingerpicking and slide can work together to create rhythm, texture and expression.

Suitable for guitarists wanting to explore slide and fingerstyle techniques, as well as curious music lovers keen to discover how this evocative style of guitar playing works.

Paul’s philosophy is simple: if even one person leaves inspired to explore this style of playing, the workshop has done its job!

Disclaimer: Paul Davies cannot be held responsible for anyone who subsequently sells their soul at the crossroads.
