COSTUMES!

FRIDAY OCTOBER 2nd

doors 6 / reading 7

$12

Sharers and listeners are all welcome!

No story is required to come and enjoy the scene. To sustain our work, there is a $12 entry fee, but we turn no one away for a lack of funds.

On the fence about telling a story? We're here to help you develop it for primetime! Reach out to one of our gracious and beautiful hosts to brainstorm and refine. We'd love to get a glimpse of your inner worlds.

October's Storytelling Theme: COSTUMES Who are you behind the mask?

This Fall, SLOTH takes you to the masquerade. Tell us your stories about how costumes have empowered you to experiment with your identity. What looks have you adorned to become someone new? Was it for adventure or for survival? Literal or figurative? Were you trying to fit in or stand out? Did you learn something about yourself in this departure from your norm? SLOTHETTES, put on a show and then share with us your true identities at COSTUMES.

WHAT ARE SLOTH EVENTS? The SLOTH is our queer gathering for friends to share stories inspired by our selected themes. Come to listen or come to tell. We welcome authentic and true(ish) tales, comedy, poetry, music, and any creative form you can put into a compelling 5-minute share. Follow us instagram.com/sloth.nyc
