Slow and Steady: Coburg Station to Glenroy
Event description
This is a slow-paced ride for those looking to gain a little more confidence on their bike. You'll ride max 14km from Coburg Station to Glenroy for late lunch at a TBC Nepalese restaurant, with options to take the train back if you wish.
The route and the ride
Mostly protected bike paths (Upfield Bike Path + Westbreen Creek Path) and some road riding on quiet streets with bike lanes.
Mostly flat + some gentle uphill. Going at a leisurely pace (Please expect ≤ 12kph speed :)
We can all ride back together to Coburg Station, or train back part of the way. Whatever suits the group on the day.
We can do a safety check and practice hand signals if the group would like to practice.
All bikes are suitable.
This is a social, no-drop ride as always, which means we ride as a group at chatting pace, and no one gets left behind!
Who this is for:
This ride is ideal for you if you know how to ride a bike but you're still gaining confidence, prefer a slower pace, and/or want to test the waters riding on very quiet roads.
Those who enjoy rides that involve food (why else ride?)
Logistics:
Meeting at 1pm for a 1:15pm roll out. Starting and ending at Coburg Station.
