Chocolate Tasting with Endé Cacao: Exploring Ethiopian Spices & the Bean-to-Bar Craft
Description
Join Slow Food DC and The DC Chocolate Society for a bean-to-bar chocolate tasting! Together with our friends at Endé Cacao, we will explore the origin of the cacao bean, the difference between mainstream chocolate and bean-to-bar, and sample a variety of bars. Your ticket includes 5 chocolate samples plus a tea. The Chocolate House will stay open after the event for chocolate shopping where Endé Cacao's bars will be available for purchase. This is an event you won't want to miss!
Endé Cacao (እንዴ- Amharic for an expression of surprise!) is a DC-based artisan chocolate maker bridging the gap between ethical bean-to-bar craft and Ethiopian heritage. By blending traceable, single-origin cacao with traditional spices like Berbere, Black Seed, and Korerima, Endé transforms chocolate from a simple treat into a "Food is Medicine" experience. The brand is built on the belief that chocolate is a nourishing food, not a candy.
About DC Chocolate Society: Founded by local chocolate enthusiasts to provide a gathering space to meet regularly with chocolate-minded people. The goal is to have fun while eating & learning about chocolate. Casual bimonthly meetings w/ guest speakers tastings & discussions.
