Event description

After 130 odd slow dances, SLOW GRIND FEVER comes to Gadigal Country for the first time with an intimate B.Y.O / D.I.Y dance above an electrical wholesaler in Leichhardt. We play the slowest, sleaziest, spookiest, sweetest, swinginest old records we can find, and people dance real slow in a haze of smoke and dim red light. It's a good time. Finger snapping rhythm 'n' blues, smoochy sweet soul, jazzy popcorn, sultry slow-funk burners and uncategorizable moody melters, all sizzling off of antique discs brought to you by DJs Richie1250, Ms Monica and Zigsa.

Saturday Feb 8th, 9pm-3am at Splinter Factory, 683 Parramatta Rd, Leichhardt NSW.

This a BYO venue with no bar, so bring what you need for the night.

80 tickets only. Don't sleep.

NOTES:

- This event is not easily accessible by wheelchair as there are two flights of stairs to climb. Please contact us if you use a wheelchair and want to come and we will do our best to accommodate

- The Splinter Factory is a queer space. It is clothing optional and sex positive. You can expect to see people connecting in whatever way they find meaningful. Consent is sexy and also mandatory

- There will be a smoke machine going all night and it will get very smokey. The smoke is non-toxic but if you ain't into smoke machines this might not be the party for you...

- The dancefloor at Slow Grind Fever is for dancing. If you need to use your phone, please do it in the hallway or on the balcony. (We don't mind you taking a quick photo or video to post up later on, but standing in the middle of the dancefloor looking down at your phone is poor Slow Grind etiquette)

- Slow Grind Fever is not specifically a partnered dancing event. Some people dance with a partner, some with a group of friends, some alone with their eyes closed. You can do it how you wanna.

- The vibe of the night is very hazy and sultry, but the vibe is also about having good manners. Don't be all up in someone's personal space if they aren't inviting you.
