Slow Looking Workshop: White Jade Orchids 白蘭花
Description
Chun Yin Rainbow Chan describes her exhibition, 'White Jade Orchids 白蘭花' as 'a meditation on women’s songs and stories, on language and on the importance of remembering what is almost lost.'
At this Slow Looking Workshop, Verge invites you to engage in a series of curated activities to pause with ‘White Jade Orchids 白蘭花,' taking a moment to absorb the interdisciplinary works and poignant reflections featured within the exhibition.
Subverting the art historical technique of closely examining the visual fundamentals of an artwork for academic output, this workshop engages with slow looking as an exercise in being present. In a world that is increasingly fast-moving, slow looking is a means of learning about the world in a way that is free from judgement, and which brings us into the present moment.
Free food and drinks will be provided. All welcome.
