Slow Pages Society - September Edit
Description
Slow Pages Society is a quiet Sunday gathering for people who want to slow down, read deeply, and connect thoughtfully. We’ll meet on the last Sunday afternoon of the month.
Hosted by Alicia from Well, Well. each session offers two intentional hours away from screens, notifications, errands and noise - a space to settle in with a good book, a drink in hand, and a table full of fellow readers. You can chat about what you are reading in between or use the conversation prompts.
You don’t need to read the same book as everyone else. Instead, each gathering follows a loose literary theme - from 20th century classics, to Booker Prize lists, essays, wellbeing writing, contemporary fiction and more. For September, our theme is Australian authors & local voices. But if this theme doesn't float your boat - just bring along whatever you are reading!
Looking ahead, our theme for future gatherings will be:
• October: Spooky, strange & speculative stories
• November: Big summer reads, favourites & books worth sharing
Tickets are donation-based, with 30% of proceeds supporting the Indigenous Literacy Foundation and their work improving access to books and literacy resources for remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities.
Come alone or bring a friend. Read whatever you like. Stay as long as you’d like afterwards.
Good company. Quiet pages. Lasting impact.
