Slow Series with Pauline Georges
Event description
Slow Series - Knitting 101 with Pauline Georges
Knitting your own wearable wardrobe is the antidote to fast fashion we all need.
Pauline’s knitwear designs are inspired by the relaxed Australian lifestyle. As a self-taught knitter and environmentalist, she values sustainability and animal welfare which are echoed with her selection of yarns you will get to work with.
Pauline will get you through all the foundational elements from hands-on skills through to choosing yarns, needles and deciphering patterns.
You will learn:
- Casting on
- Casting off
- Knit stitch
- Purl stitch
- Making swatches
- How to start, work and finish a project of your choice - a scarf or snood.
Needles, wool and refreshments are included in the workshop cost.
You will leave with quality materials:
- Super bulky 100% wool which we love for its superior insulation and anti-bacterial properties. The yarn is dyed with certified OEKO-TEX non-toxic dyes from farms with Responsible Wool Standard certification and 100% biodegradable
- 15mm solid Indian maplewood needles
- Instructions to refer back to
- Digital instruction to finish (and troubleshoot) your very first project
No prior skills necessary.
Enjoy life in the slow lane.
