Discover the gentle and creative art of slow stitching and learn how to breathe new life into your clothing through decorative hand embroidery and textile embellishment.

In this six-session workshop series, you'll explore how to plan, design and apply slow stitch techniques to transform a favourite garment, whether it's a jacket, dress, skirt, pants or another treasured item. Guided by experienced tutors Susan Hoy and Sandra Johnson, you'll learn a variety of hand stitching techniques that can be incorporated into your unique design.

This is a relaxed, supportive and creative environment where participants can work at their own pace while learning traditional textile skills that have been passed down through generations.

• Planning and designing a textile transformation project

• A range of decorative hand stitching techniques

• Creative approaches to embellishment and garment renewal

• How to incorporate reclaimed and repurposed materials into your work

Course Details

Participants enrol in a six-session course delivered across a ten-session program, allowing flexibility if a session is missed.

Participants attend any six sessions during the program.

No sewing machine is required. This is a hand-sewing workshop suitable for beginners and experienced makers alike.
