fragments and thread : a slow stitch workshop
Event description
In this workshop, artist Michele Elliot will introduce you to the meditative craft of slow stitching. Using hand embroidery, Michele will guide you through simple patterns and easy applique techniques to create two stitched pieces over the day.
Research has shown there are positive effects on your well-being in taking up creative activities and hand stitching is an easy one to learn. It can help you to switch off after a stressful day or ease anxiety in its rhythmic action.
The workshop is relaxed and you can work at your own pace. It is suitable for all levels (adults and 16 yrs +). No sewing experience is necessary.
Please note that numbers are limited to allow plenty of opportunity for individual attention and needs.
Earlybird price available up until Friday 17th Feb.
