Slow Stitches with CJ Threds
Event description
Charmaine Thredgold, from the Reskill Project, will show how to repair your clothes in ways that add beauty and interest to your fashion statements. Starting with basic stitches (tacking, backstitch, hemstitch, blanket stitch and button fastening) make a small bag that demonstrates each of these. Then, explore the Japanese methods for patching holes in clothes: Boro and Sashiko, and start a small Boro patch. Bring a friend and enjoy these Sunday afternoons together. The $70 fee includes: a project pack containing fabric, thread and a needle, a cosy fire, and a delicious afternoon tea. You're welcome to bring your own scissors, needles, pins, if you wish, but these will be supplied for use on the day.
