Running your business from the kitchen table, garage, spare room or small commercial space doesn't mean you have to figure it all out alone!

Join Banyule City Council and Nillumbik Shire Council for a half-day forum built specifically for small and home-based business owners ready to sharpen their story and get their social media working harder for them.

This session is fast-paced, practical and refreshingly jargon-free. You'll spend the morning with communications expert and professional speaker Jordana Borensztajn, learning how to find your brand's voice, tell your story with confidence, and start putting it into action before you even leave the room

Program:

9.30am -10.00am: Morning tea, registration and networking on arrival

10.00am -10.15am: Welcome from the Banyule Mayor Alison Champion

10.15am -11.30am: Finding Your Voice with Jordana.

A practical, high-energy social media workshop, culminating in five key takeaways to put into action immediately.

11.30am - 11.45am: Close from Nillumbik Deputy Mayor Kate McKay

11.45am - 1.30pm: Lunch and informal networking, with local council business support from both councils on hand.

Finding Your Voice with Jordana

In this hands-on 75-minute workshop, Jordana breaks down social media storytelling for small and home-based businesses: no fluff, no tech overwhelm. Through practical exercises and honest, real-world examples, you'll learn why your story matters and how to start telling it today, wrapping up with five key takeaways you can act on straight away.

Whether you're posting for the very first time or just want more confidence online, this workshop meets you exactly where you're at.

About Jordana

Jordana Borensztajn is a communications expert, author and in-demand public speaker who has spent more than 20 years helping people find their voice, from newsrooms and boardrooms to corporate stages across Australia, Japan, the US, the UK and beyond. A former journalist with News Corp Australia and National Online Music Editor at Nova Entertainment, Jordana also worked as a social media manager and content producer, giving her a hands-on understanding of storytelling online.

A TEDx speaker and author, Jordana is known for her high energy and knack for turning a room of strangers into an engaged, laughing audience. On the day, she'll bring that same energy to something a little closer to home: helping small and home-based business owners find their voice, tell their story, and start posting with confidence today.

Let us know at least a week before the event (by Tuesday 3 November 2026) if you can no longer make it, and we'll happily refund your ticket. We're not able to offer refunds within a week of the event, but you're welcome to pass your ticket on to someone else instead.

There is no need to bring your printed ticket to the event, we will mark your name off at the door.

What is the refund policy?

Refunds are available up to 7 days before the event. Requests must be made in writing and sent through to business@banyule.vic.gov.au. Please note that your ticket is transferrable at any time.
