Small Town Romance @ Shotkickers
Event description
Holy smokes! Melbourne country outfit Small Town Romance are back with a new single and their first full band show in many-a-moon. A twang-forward, 6-piece line-up will be serving up a fresh set of original tunes with Flora and Jim’s trademark harmonies at the centre of it all. This will be the first taste of their hotly anticipated (by them) sophomore album due out in early 2024. That’s right folks, this promises to be an exclusive debut of many sure-fire future classics. Expect dancing, expect yodelling, expect Jim's furrowed brow and Flora's obnoxious accordion. This is four quadrant entertainment. Oh, and bring your dad. It's Father’s Day and deep down, in the marrow of their bones, all Dad's love country music.
Small Town Romance blend country, folk, Americana, tex-mex and roots influences to create a sound that is uniquely their own. Their self-titled debut was lauded by critics and fans alike receiving nominations for Music Victoria Country Album of the Year and Best New Talent category at the Golden Guitar awards. Since the release of their album they have toured extensively, been nominated for a second Golden Guitar and shared stages with the likes of Don Walker, Mick Thomas, Tracy McNeil, Fanny Lumsden, Darren Hanlon and Eilen Jewell.
Small Town Romance will be joined on the night by twin singin’ hillbilly wonders The Iron Bark Brothers.
