Small Things with Great Love - Action Arvo
Event description
Come and join us for an afternoon of ..... hmmm .... well ... we don't quite know yet. That is all part of the fun. Over the Community Climate Action Series (CCAS) 2022 thus far we have been on a journey - we have gathered together to share food and create art, engaged in the art of mindful weeding, and toured the beautiful Toolangi Forest. This was our season of RECONNECTING. We then delved into the world of philosophy and the arts to help us to deconstruct and then reconstruct our world, and our place within it – as individuals and as community. This was our season of REIMAGINING. Now, with a commitment to reigniting and enlivening the fire in us for collective action, we enter into a season of REKINDLING – with the desire to translate sparks of inspiration and ideas shared over the preceding months into action. We have a list of ideas that have been contributed – imaginings of changes we’d like to see in our neighbourhoods if only we had the time or the extra hands to make possible. We invite you to come and join us to dedicate two hours of your day to take small, doable actions with a group of neighbours - inspired by this list, or any other ideas you might bring along.
This session is for anyone who a) wants to take action on climate change but just doesn't know where to start and b) is submerged in ideas they want to put into action if only they had the time, energy, support. We’d like to see what magic arises when we unite. We might not be able to take on the world – but we can do small things with great love – and have a bit of fun at the same time.
This workshop is part of the Community Climate Action Series run by Neighbours United for Climate Action (NUCA), hosted by NECCHI and funded by Moreland City Council. Wherever possible, these sessions are free and family friendly, and they run once a month. A big THANK YOU to Moreland City Council, in particular the Zero Carbon Moreland team, and NECCHi for their generous support.
To make this a Covid-safe event, participants need to be fully vaccinated (unless exempted).
