SMART Squad: Curious Chemistry workshop
Event description
Get ready for hands-on science these school holidays! If your child is curious about chemistry this half-day workshop, run by the University of Newcastle's SMART* Program, is just for them!
Throughout the morning, students will explore:
🧪 Everyday chemicals and chemical reactions
🧫 The difference between acids and bases
👩🔬 Measuring the pH of some common household items
🚀 Using a chemical reaction to launch a mini "rocket"
There will be plenty of time for open-ended exploration so your child can work at their own pace, with support from the SMART Program’s expert educators.
Ages: 8-12 years (limited to students enrolled in primary school years 3, 4, 5 & 6)
When: Thursday 17th July, 9:30am - 12:00pm
Cost: $45 per student (incl. GST)
Host: The University of Newcastle's SMART Program and Lake Mac Libraries
Payment: Online via Humanitix only.

Enrolments:
Limited to 20 students, based on order of registration via Humanitix. A waitlist will be created when all tickets are sold.
Restricted to primary school or registered homeschool students currently enrolled in Years 3, 4, 5, or 6.
Families enrolling 2 or more students are invited to use the discount code FAMILY#5 at checkout to receive a $5 discount

Double-dip! If you enrol your child/ren in both workshops (Curious Chemistry in the morning, and Fascinating Physics in the afternoon), we will provide supervision during the lunch break from 12:00-1:00pm. More details will be provided following registration.
