Primary School Students in Years 3 to 6 are invited to enrol in
STEM Club Term 1: Coding Meets Creative Arts
This term we are using technology to explore creative arts. If you are a tech-lover and want to expand your imagination and creativity, this term is for you!
Hardware: Makey Makey, Edison robots
Coding languages: Scratch, EdScratch
Creative arts areas to be explored:
- Drawing & Digital Arts (2 weeks)
- Dance & Drama (2 weeks)
- Music (2 weeks)
Each week will have both 'unplugged' screen-free hands-on activities, and 'plugged' activities that allow for coding time.
Prior experience in coding is not necessary for enrolment, beginner coders are very welcome.

Host: The University of Newcastle's SMART Program
Dates: Wednesday afternoons (for 6 weeks), Week 1: 28/02/2024 to Week 6: 03/04/2024
Time: 4.30pm - 5.45pm (75-minute sessions)
Who: Primary School Students in Years 3, 4, 5, and 6
Location: Callaghan Campus, University of Newcastle, NSW Australia
Cost: $150* per student ($25 per session incl. GST, 6 sessions)
*Reduced cost for Term 1, made possible thanks to funding support gratefully received from SMART's STEM Industry Partners.
Payment: Online via Humanitix only. Installment options available.

Enrolments
- Limited to 20 students, accepted based on order of registration via Humanitix
- Restricted to Primary School & Homeschool Students currently enrolled in Years 3, 4, 5, or 6
- Students re-enrolling in STEM Club are invited to use the discount code RETURNING#25 at checkout

- Students do not need to bring a laptop or other devices
