SMART STEM CLUB - Term 2 - 2023
Event description
Primary School Students in Years 3 to 6 are invited to STEM Club
Come along and join us for a 'Journey to the Moon'
Students will step into the role of an astronaut, and explore what it might be like to live away from planet Earth!
Across 6 sessions, we'll learn about the landscape of the Moon, and investigate:
- How gravity changes
- Why rovers are important
- Being part of a crew (and what you might have to eat!)
Along the way, we'll be using creativity and STEM skills, to design and make equipment for astronauts to:
- Travel to the Moon
- Collect scientific samples
- Perform a rescue mission.

Host: The University of Newcastle's SMART Program
Dates: Thursday afternoons (for 6 weeks), 18/5/2023 to 22/06/2023
Time: 4.30pm - 5.45pm (75 minute sessions)
Who: Primary School Students in Years 3, 4, 5, and 6
Location: Callaghan Campus, University of Newcastle, NSW Australia
Cost: $150** per student ($25 per session incl. GST)

- Limited to 20 students, accepted based on order of registration via Humanitix
- Restricted to Primary School & Homeschool Students currently enrolled in Years 3, 4, 5, or 6
