Event description
What if your food choices could shift the balance toward a healthier, more sustainable future?
Small, mindful changes can make a big difference. Discover practical ways to escape the industrial food trap, stretch your food budget, and embrace sustainable eating habits that benefit both you and the planet. From reducing food waste to sourcing seasonal, local, or home-grown ingredients, this talk will empower you to eat like the planet depends on it - because it does.
This session brings together passionate advocates for fair food systems and sustainable living:
Costa Georgiadis - Beloved host of ABC’s Gardening Australia and a champion for equitable and regenerative food practices. Costa’s infectious passion for sustainability has made him a leading voice in connecting people with their food, soil, and communities.
Kerri Gill - Public health researcher at the University of Queensland, specialising in healthy, sustainable food systems. With training in nutrition, psychology and business and experience ranging from large corporations through to small-scale farming, Kerri’s work aims to promote system change towards healthy food for all.
Kirsty Bishop-Fox - Sustainability educator inspiring people to transform their approach to food, waste, and conscious living. With a hands-on, practical approach, Kirsty empowers individuals to make impactful choices that reduce waste and contribute to a more sustainable lifestyle.
Together, they’ll explore practical ways to beat the "Costa" Living Crisis with sustainable eating. From smarter shopping and reducing waste to supporting local, seasonal produce.
Presented in collaboration with Zero Waste Victoria this talk will inspire you to rethink how you shop, cook, and eat — empowering you to save money, cut waste, and make every meal matter.
