Join Erin from Smell Art on a Smell Walk as we explore the scents of Footscray.
From the vibrant scents of the Footscray Market to the aromatic Vietnamese grocery stores and the rich spices wafting from Ethiopian restaurants, our suburb is a sensory treasure trove.

🕥 Time: 11:00 AM – 12:15 PM
📍 Location: Abol Africa, 221 Barkly Street, Footscray, VIC
🎟 Cost: $15, includes Ethiopian coffee (served with frankincense + popcorn!), or a hot drink of your choice. Children under 18 attend for free.

What to Expect:
11 AM: Meet at Abol Africa for a short Smell Walk briefing from Erin.
11:15 AM: Embark on a guided walk as a group.
11:30 AM: Continue on a self-guided walk, recording the scents that you experience.
11:50 AM: Gather for a coffee, debrief and short smell talk, learn from Erin about how your sense of smell works, discover some benefits of focusing on smell, and have the opportunity to share your Smell Walk experiences.12:15 AM: Event concludes. You are welcome to stay and order lunch if you would like.
What to Bring:
- Dress for the weather, bring a hat and sunscreen, or an umbrella and a rain jacket.
- Please wear comfortable shoes you can walk in
- A water bottle
Access:
- Where you go and the distance you walk is very flexible and self-directed, allowing you to stay within your abilities.
- Verbal and written instructions will be given in English.
