East Contra Costa HYBRID Community Meeting #1
Event description
You’re Invited: Air Pollution Concerns HYBRID Community Meeting
Tell us where you see and smell air pollution in Pittsburg and Bay Point, so that Aclima and the California Air Resources Board can monitor air quality where it matters most to residents!
This hybrid meeting will take place virtually on Zoom and in person at the Pittsburg Marina Center on Tuesday, April 15th, from 6-8pm. In person attendees will be offered a $20 Target gift card for their participation and light refreshments will be provided.
The California Air Resources Board, Aclima, and Sustainable Contra Costa are teaming up to measure air pollution block-by-block in East Contra Costa (Pittsburg and Bay Point) and we need your help in identifying community air pollution concerns and what areas are most impacted by poor air quality.
Join us at this community meeting to:
- Share your experiences with and concerns about the air quality in Pittsburg and Bay Point
- Decide pollution monitoring boundaries for the community
- Help us gather as much community input as possible for Aclima to use to draft a Community Air Monitoring Plan for East Contra Costa!
What you tell us about where you think pollution comes from, or what places have the worst air helps us make a Community Air Monitoring Plan to measure air quality in places community members are most concerned with. Community Air Monitoring Plan describes what we already know about air pollution in a community, what kind of data we want to collect about the air pollution, and how we might use that data to take action.
This is the first of two hybrid community meetings; the next one will be held on Thursday, May 1st from 6-8pm in person at the Pittsburg Marina Center and virtually via Zoom. Community members who attend this meeting will review and make recommendations to change the draft Community Air Monitoring Plan, including the monitoring boundary, so that Mobile Monitoring can begin in June 2025.
Community members who are impacted by air pollution have important knowledge and experience to add to a Community Air Monitoring Plan (and its review) and we cannot do this without you!
