On Wednesday 18 February 2026 Words in Winter will host a special one-night event exploring policy settings in Nordic nations and how they might enhance Australian policy frameworks.

Andrew Scott, former Director of the Nordic Policy Centre, will explore Scandinavian models for equality, sustainability, and wellbeing, and how they could inspire smarter, fairer Australian policies.

The session, titled "Smörgåsbord of Solutions: Nordic Ideas for Australia" runs from 5.30 – 7.00 pm at The Bull & Mouth, Maryborough. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to order dinner, with full service beginning at 7.15 pm.

Tickets are just $5, capped at 50 people for an intimate, engaging evening.

If you wish to stay on for dinner, the kitchen will take orders from 5.15pm to be served after the session concludes. Do not make a separate booking, order when you arrive.
