Event description

Treat your kids to a morning of delicious artmaking!

Choose from a menu of workshops!

Build your own drawing tools, create friendly Frankensteins from radical cutouts, create collages with weird and wonderful materials, or write an ‘art letter’ to a loved one using text, drawing and watercolours. The perfect recipe for a fun Saturday morning!

FOUR awesome workshops run simultaneously!  Book into ONE workshop only.

1. Paper Play — Nicky Tsekouras

Paper Play is a vibrant and hands-on collage workshop for kids, led by artist Nicky Tsekouras. Through playful exploration of textures and colours, learn creative collage techniques and explode your imagination!

2. Drawing Machines — Alice Tsiavos

Can you invent a way of drawing where you don’t hold the pencil? In this workshop, children use found materials to build fantastical drawing tools and devise new ways to draw!

3. Chimera Collage — Sarah Aiken

A collage extravaganza! Make your own mythical creature through collage and craft! Mix cut-outs of animals, people, plants, machines, objects, or anything that can be imagined to make fun Frankensteins of living and non-living things.

4. From Abbotsford Convent with Love — Ana Rita Pires

Explore the Convent and create a letter for a loved one through writing and drawing, then share it with a wider audience. The work culminates as a small archive – a collection of letters. The lucky recipient takes home their letter of love.

Finish up - Artist Tour and Talk

As the workshop draws to a close, all children grab a snack, arrange their works for viewing, and present their very own Artist Talk and Tour.

Don't forget to take home your tasty creations! Show and share with your family, friends and dogs!

THESE WORKSHOPS ARE FOR CHILDREN ONLY! ADULTS - SIT BACK AND LET THEM COOK! DON'T WORRY - WE'VE GOT YOU COVERED! COFFEE PROVIDED!

This project is funded by The City of Yarra.
