Snake Safety!
Event description
Feeling safe in the bush is so important so we can really enjoy ourselves - you can only do that with knowledge! Let Dee (Archaeologist) take you on a discovery into the world of snakes : what they do, how they behave and who they are. Most importantly, we'll learn what to do if we ever meet one.
We’ll spend a summer morning outdoors learning about our native snakes with your kids, including stories, games, and a bush walk through Westerfolds park. Kids will create their own Rainbow Serpent artwork to take home and practice snake safety through simple role-play. While we'll practise bandaging, this is not a first aid certification course. It's all about curiosity, connection, and fun in the great outdoors!
Suitable for children 4-12 y/o.
Parents are responsible for their children at all times and are encouraged to participate in the fun!
This school holiday program is an all weather outdoor session so participants need to make sure to bring weather appropriate protection. In the event of inclement weather the program will be either shifted to an undercover location. Cancellation will only occur in the event of extreme weather warnings: fire, strong winds, storm or high temperatures.
