2026 Snow Summit

The Snow Summit is Snow Resorts Australia’s flagship national industry event, bringing together resort leaders, industry, sport, operators, suppliers, government, chambers and experts for two days of learning, collaboration and sector-wide planning.

Being held in Thredbo on Tuesday 5th & Wednesday 6th May 2026, the event will focus on the future of the sector - with themes around visitor experience, economic development, participation, workforce, technology, sustainability and climate adaptation.

What the Snow Summit Will Cover

Across two days, the Snow Summit will examine the key forces shaping the Australian snow industry. Examples of some of the sessions that will be on offer include:

• The Hidden Giant: Snow’s Surprising Role in Australia’s Regional Economy - presenting the findings of the industry’s most comprehensive National Winter Economic Significance and Consumer Insights studies ever undertaken.
• Beyond the Mountains: Snow, Communities and Regional Prosperity
• World-Leading Snow Management: How Australian Resorts Set the Standard
• How Guests Choose Snow: The New Decision Journey
• Pricing, Perception and Participation: Barriers to Growth
• Building Careers, Not Just Seasons: Opportunities for the Next Generation

The Summit will also provide the stage for the formal launch of a new 'Know Before You Go' snow safety campaign and modernised Alpine Responsibility Code.

Day Two features the Snow Industry Roundtable, a facilitated session designed to capture collective insight and identify key priorities for inclusion in a documented Industry Outcomes Paper from the event. The program concludes with Site Visits across the Snowy Mountains.
