SNYJO: Afternoon Jazz at Cottiers
Event description
The Scottish National Youth Jazz Orchestra was founded in 2002 to provide a free educational opportunity for promising young jazz musicians.
It has gone on to nurture some of the biggest talents in Scottish jazz today and continues to develop the stars of tomorrow by encouraging them to perform the big band sounds of jazz’s masters with skill, creativity and exuberance in concerts that celebrate their individualism, teamwork, and ability to improvise.
Join us on Sunday the 9th of November for a concert suitable for the whole family and enjoy an extraordinary afternoon of outstanding music and improvisation by the skilful SNYJO showcasing big-band music by some of the iconic names in jazz including Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald, Dizzy Gillespie, Count Basie, and Duke Ellington.
