In the first part of this half-day workshop, Allison Tait (A. L. Tait), internationally published bestselling middle-grade author, co-host of the Your Kid’s Next Read podcast, and teacher at the Australian Writer’s Centre, will share her insider secrets and practical tips on writing for children.

She’ll look at the top 10 questions you need to ask yourself in order to write a great book for kids – as well as answering any burning questions you might have.

In part two, Allison will look at how to build a successful longterm career as a children’s author. From promoting your work to writing the next book, get the inside track to save you time and heartache.

Bio

Allison Tait (A. L. Tait) is the author of three epic middle-grade adventure fantasy series THE MAPMAKER CHRONICLES, THE ATEBAN CIPHER and the MAVEN & REEVE Mysteries.

Her books have been long-listed and short-listed for various awards, including the CBCA Book Of The Year, the Readings Prize for Children’s Fiction, and the Aurealis awards. Allison speaks regularly at schools and literary festivals, teaches creative writing for children at the Australian Writers’ Centre, and is co-host of the Your Kids Next Read podcast.
