Your two hosts are Leslie Avila from DelightFull Co | AJ Consulting Services and Safronia Perry from S. Perry Consulting & Coaching LLC.
Leslie Avila will highlight the fundamental steps of setting up a nonprofit, including the crucial distinction between an LLC, 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) status. You will explore alternative structures as well, such as fiscal sponsorship or branching. You will understand the importance of establishing your vision and mission before electing a status, hiring staff, or creating your board. Before you leave, you will understand the significance of 501(c)(3) status and what will be required of you to start one.
Safronia Perry will go through the importance of crafting a compelling business plan rooted in your mission, vision, and underlying purpose. You will discover the importance of your by-laws in the success of your organization. Safronia will review your board development, and the distinguishing between a working board and a governance board. You will uncover strategies for navigating managing staff, board members, and volunteers and conducting reports for those meetings.
