Some Assembly Required - Exhibition - Eleonora Gugliotta & Sioux Tempestt

Perth-based artists Sioux Tempestt and Eleonora Gugliotta present Some Assembly Required, a joint exhibition at SAVA Gallery exploring how existing images, objects, materials and traces can be transformed through artistic intervention.

Both practices begin with something already present: an image, object, body, place, discarded material or trace of an action. Through photography, painting, drawing, assemblage and mixed-media processes, these elements are shifted, obscured and reconfigured. Their original identities are not completely erased. Traces of their previous use, context or reality remain visible even as artistic intervention changes how they are perceived and valued.

The title refers to both the physical construction of the works and the way viewers encounter them. Meaning emerges as audiences connect fragments, recognise what remains and assemble their own interpretations. The exhibition asks how intervention and context can transform the meaning, identity and value of what already exists, where art begins, and how much of a material’s former life remains within what it becomes.
