    Event description

This event will be held both on-campus and online

Beth is a transdisciplinary designer who works at the intersection of design, ecology, engineering, and emerging technologies. Her practice explores the symbiotic relationships between human and non-human species. With an academic foundation in biological sciences, ecology, and design, Beth's creative practice involves experimentation, iterative testing, and field research across multiple intersecting disciplines.

Currently pursuing a PhD in Design, Beth focuses on developing biocompatible materials and objects to enable reproducible and sustainable coral reef research and restoration in marine ecosystems. Her holistic approach spanning material science, biomimetic design, digital design and fabrication, and related engineering principles, aims to produce structures and materials that are in harmony with nature while also considering production and logistic methods.

This event will be held both on-campus and online via Zoom (a link to the online stream will be sent to registered attendees).

The School of Art & Design Seminar series will continue weekly on Tuesdays from 1-2pm, between 16 July and 29 October 2024.

The School of Art & Design Seminar Series is co-convened by Dr Alex Burchmore, Alia Parker, and Elisa Crossing.
