    Event description

Join us for a social session making beautiful olive and coconut oil soap using the hot process soap making method.

    Your instructor Rocio will cover:

    • Differences between the hot and cold processes
    • Safety measures
    • How to use the Soap Calculator to make your own tailored recipes
    • Natural additives that you can use when formulating your own recipes.

In pairs you'll make a batch of olive and coconut oil soap so you can leave with your first batch of soap, and the knowledge to make much more at home. All equipment and materials are provided, although you might like to bring your own silicone baking molds and any favourite essential oils
to take your soap to the next level.

Please note this workshop is only suitable for people over the age of 18.

All this is set in the grounds of Perth City Farm, non-profit community environmental centre that provides space and opportunities to cultivate
connection, and educates and enables all of us to live sustainably with nature. The workshop space is connected to our lush food gardens, and
we'll make use of them as much as possible during the workshop.

Please note that masks must be worn when indoors at Perth City Farm run events and education sessions, including this one, unless you have a valid exemption. The WA mask mandate has ended, but case numbers are still high and we consider this measure a sensible way to keep our participants and staff safe. We know wearing masks can be annoying, but we also know that some in our community are more vulnerable to COVID-19, and the wearing of masks means everyone can participate in our events. Thank you very much for your understanding and ongoing support.

In addition, please wear closed in shoes to protect your feet from the materials used in the workshop.

This workshop is supported by the City of Perth and Lotterywest.
