Soba
A sober dance floor by Dance Remedy x Base
Welcome to Soba.
A Friday night party without the hangover. Made from moody lighting, a beautiful open space, a live DJ set & wonderful people!
Intention.
To move, get out of your head, into your body, into the music, into the moment.
The only substances are music, dancing and connection.
An intimate but high-vibe dance floor, designed with intention: dreamy, warm lighting, immersive music and space to roam, pause, and drop in.
(Yes, there are breakout zones for when you need a breather or a chat!)
We dance, we release, we reset and we’re in bed by 10pm.
Live DJ set from one of our favourites, Tim Koren (a 2.5hour journey…trust us, you’re in great hands). Tim's set will begin with a 15-minute warm up leading into 1 hour + 45-minutes of dance music, followed by a 30-minute wind-down.
A Friday night boogie to shake off the week and land fresh into your weekend.
We’ll also have some beautiful Love Tea available for bottomless cups of tea.
Location: sBase—Level 2, 175 Brunswick St, Fitzroy 3065.
Enter via the red gates on King William St, where you'll see a 'Heretic' sign. Come up two flights of stairs and we'll be there up the top.
Hosted by Dance Remedy x Base
Dance Remedy: (founded by Zoee Marsh) is a guided, fortnightly dance class.
No choreography, no mirrors, no pressure. Just you, your body, great music, and a room full of humans doing the same.
Base provide psychotherapy and mental health coaching that meets people where they're at. Providing the tools needed to navigate life's challenges, Base works with individuals who share a common knowledge: that the mind and body are one.
sBase is a new chapter growing out of Base, shaped by a meaningful idea: that we all need places to gather, share ideas, and spend time together in thoughtful environments.Ultimately, sBase is a place for gathering. Through deep listening, exhibitions, workshops and shared experiences, we host events that invite connection, reflection and authentic exchange.
We’re beyond excited to bring this event to our communities and beyond!
Come as you are, bring a water and tea vessel for refills. We look forward to seeing you on the dance floor!
Soba acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land on which we are meeting, creating and growing on, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation and pays respects to their Elders past, present and emerging. We extend our acknowledgement to indigenous communities around the globe who continue to be subject to ongoing systemic oppression and erasure.
