Social Cohesion Hui
Description
Belong Aotearoa invites you to a kōrero on belonging and social cohesion, a gathering to explore, challenge, and deepen our understanding of cohesion in Aotearoa today.
Belong Aotearoa is a national organisation working to strengthen belonging and social cohesion through advocacy, community engagement, research, and storytelling. We work alongside migrant and refugee-background communities to help shape a more inclusive Aotearoa.
In an election year where social cohesion is firmly in focus, this gathering will bring the findings of the Social Cohesion in Aotearoa New Zealand 2026 report into conversation with the lived experiences of migrant- and refugee-background communities.
Key author Shamubeel Eaqub will provide the keynote, exploring how economic and systems perspectives intersect with everyday experiences of belonging and inclusion.
Throughout the day, we will engage with academics, community leaders, decision-makers, and changemakers, exploring social cohesion through economic, policy, cultural, and community-grounded perspectives.
Join us for thoughtful kōrero, fresh insights, and good kai.
Registration: $35 for those in paid employment / $10 for students, and those not currently in paid employment. Please get in touch if payment is a barrier to attending.
Morning tea and lunch will be provided
