Social Equity Research Centre Inaugural Oration: An equitable future starts with courageous leadership today

Established in 2023, the Social Equity Research Centre (SERC) is dedicated to conducting transformative research that advances social equity outcomes. Our mission extends beyond informing policy decisions to effecting tangible changes in real-world practices.

To celebrate the launch of the Centre, join us on the World Day of Social Justice 2024 for the official Centre launch and inaugural oration.

Delivering the oration will be Hang Vo, Chief Executive Officer of the Sacred Heart Mission.

Hang has over 25 years’ experience in the for-purpose sector leading national and international services. Prior to joining Sacred Heart Mission, Hang was CEO of Whitelion Youth, and held various executive roles at Australian Red Cross and EACH Social and Community Health.

Having come to Australia as a part of the Vietnamese refugee ‘boat people’ seeking asylum in the late 1970s, and being a member of the LGBTIQ+ community, Hang has first-hand experience of dislocation and exclusion, which drives her deep commitment to creating a more inclusive and equitable society. Come along on February 20 to hear more about Hang's life and work.
