About Dr. Dimitri Douchin

Dr. Dimitri Douchin is a PhD in Astronomy and Astrophysics with over ten years of experience as an astronomy guide at the University of Canterbury Mount John Observatory (Lake Tekapo, NZ), Sydney Observatory, Macquarie University and Emirates One&Only Wolgan Valley. He is also a Cultural Astronomer at Western Sydney University working with local indigenous communities. He gave his first TED Talk about how different civilisations used and interpreted the sky. Dimitri and his fiancée Caroline are also the owners of Blue Mountains Stargazing, award-winning tours in the Blue Mountains (2022 and 2023 NSW Tourism Award Bronze in Tour Operators).
