He was Uber's first hire in New Zealand before becoming Head of Marketing for Australia and NZ. This was followed by a number of global roles for technology and education companies before recently taking up the role of Chief Customer Officer and US President for Exaba - a tech startup that has raised $8 million in seed funding.

About our speaker

AJ Tills is a marketing and growth leader with 15 years' experience leading brands and teams at high-growth technology companies in almost every part of the world. AJ joined Uber in 2014, as the first hire to launch New Zealand, before becoming Head of Marketing for Australia & NZ. He then moved to New York, initially as Growth Lead for JUMP, Uber's micromobility push, before stepping into a Chief of Staff role under the CMO.

After moving back to New Zealand in 2020, AJ joined Crimson Education as CMO to lead Crimson Global Academy, a virtual high school; scaling to 30 countries in two years. For the past three years, AJ was VP of International at The Knot, based in Barcelona, managing the wedding marketplace's footprint in UK, EU, Latin America, and India. AJ Tills recently joined Exaba in January 2026 as Chief Customer Officer and US President, hired to lead global expansion.
