Description

Soft Body Club is a community space for people with diverse bodies and lived experiences: queer, trans, fat, disabled, neurodivergent, chronically ill, and anyone who's ever felt like the world wasn't quite made for them.

Run by Sam (they/them), a queer and fat sexologist and therapist, each session brings together a small group of people for two hours of creative activity and gentle connection. You'll be gently guided through a topic and a creative activity each session (don't worry, no art experience required).

Soft Body Club is an invitation to slow down, make something, and maybe find your people.

19th October 2026

Topic: Wild

Creative activity: Metal embossing

FAQs

  • Do I need any art experience?

Not at all! Soft Body Club is about the process, not the outcome. There's no right or wrong way to engage with the activity. All art materials will be provided.

  • What if I don't know anyone?

That's completely normal, and most people will be in the same boat! There's no pressure to talk or socialise more than feels comfortable.

  • Is this a therapy session?

No, Soft Body Club is a community space, not a therapy group. Whilst it's run by Sam (a qualified Sexologist and Social Worker), sessions are about connection and creativity rather than clinical support.

  • Is the space accessible?

Unfortunately, CAYA Art Space is not wheelchair accessible (yet). The venue features a few front steps, an all-gender bathroom, and comfortable seating which can be moved to suit specific accommodations/accessibility needs. Please reach out to hello@queerpleasurecollective.com.au to discuss this further.

  • Is there parking or public transport nearby?

CAYA Art Space can be accessed via the 58 tram and 503 bus. There is also free street parking available nearby on Melville Road and surrounding streets (please check local parking signs).
