Reignite your creativity with this beginner friendly introduction to soft pastels!

After a short introduction to the medium and materials, participants will be able to freely experiment with mark making and application techniques. Karen and Benitta will then guide the group through the process of creating a small work on pastel paper to take home. All materials are supplied, and each step of the process will be demonstrated and individual instruction provided as needed.

Karen is a representational artist, and Accomplished Pastellist (with the Pastel Society of Australia) who uses soft pastel and other media to communicate her experience of the world around her. She is interested in humanness, especially how we see each other and the creation around us. Her art reveals the beauty of the ordinary. Karen regularly enters and places in competitions and has had her work published in the International Pastel Journal. She loves to share her constant learnings with others through demonstrations, workshops and classes.
