Soft Social Saturday November
Description
Sideways Social is a low-pressure way to get out and do something alongside other neurodivergent folks. There's no pressure to talk - you can arrive a little late, sit a bit apart, and leave when you need to.
Soft Social Saturday is a calm indoor hangout with optional activities. You can chat, sit quietly, do something with your hands, or just spend time in the space. There's no agenda or icebreaker, and no pressure to join in.
When: Saturday 28 November, 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm
Where: Currie Crescent Community Centre, 11 Currie Crescent, Kingston. The usual entrance has steps and enters through the Fellowship Room. If you need step-free entry, tell me when booking. I'll send you photo directions and arrange to unlock the church entrance, which leads through to the adjoining Greening Room. No explanation needed.
Tickets: Choose the ticket that fits your situation: Access $15, Standard $20, or Supporter $25. Supporter tickets help keep Access tickets available for people who would otherwise be priced out. No proof or explanation needed.
Bring: Water, a lidded drink if you want one, and any sensory supports. You're welcome to bring your own quiet craft or project. Please choose something quiet and low-scent, with images and wording suitable for a shared community space.
Food and scents: Please keep strong fragrances to a minimum. No meals during the session, please. Water bottles and lidded drinks are welcome. If you need food for medical or access reasons, please bring something small, low-scent and quiet to eat. Please do not bring nuts, and keep other food contained to reduce allergy risks.
Access
Access: The Greening and Fellowship Rooms are adjoining and on one level. The usual entrance has steps. Step-free entry is through the church and requires prior arrangement so I can unlock it and send photo directions. An accessible toilet is in the neighbouring building: the step-free route goes back through the church, outside and across to the other building.
Getting there: Free on-site parking is available for people attending CCCC activities, despite the permit-holder sign. Getting to and from CCCC guide - check the current construction detour and public transport routes before publishing.
