Soften Warburton- A Breath Journey
Event description
In this workshop you are invited to soften. Over 2.5 hours you will be guided into your body to explore sensation through the use of breath, sound and movement.Â
Using a range of breath (pranayama) techniques you will be invited to witness how your body responds to conscious breath, building your interoceptive senses.Â
Mirella will guide you through a short yoga sequence, leading into intuitive, expressive non-linear movement. You will be encouraged to move and breathe into sensation and express with emotion and sound.
You will then be invited into a more surrendered practice. We will use a somatic breathwork technique that uses connected circular breathing to shut down the thinking mind and journey into the subconscious. This breath allows us to move beyond logic and access deep emotions and incomplete stress cycles in the body.Â
This cyclical style of breathing has the potential to unlock feelings, stories and emotions which may result in a physical and/or emotional release. The invitation is to be in the body, to feel and let go. Â
What to bring:Â
- Blanket
- Water bottle
- Journal and penÂ
- A curious mind :)Â
Contraindications:Â
If you are pregnant the somatic breath technique is not recommended, however we will be able to offer you a gentler alternative.Â
If you experience cardiovascular issues, heart conditions, chronic asthma, epilepsy, high or abnormal blood pressure, psychiatric conditions (PTSD, bipolar, personality disorders etc), please speak to us prior to the event to see if this practice is right for you.Â
