Sohbet & Simit
Description
Sohbet (soh-bet)
Meaning: Chat, discussion, friendly conversation.
A celebration of culture and community, on Wurundjeri land in Brunswick.
Sohbet and simit began as a couple of talkative Turks were looking for a space in Melbourne to speak and learn the Turkish language whilst drinking çay and eating bread (simits). It has quietly and quickly blossomed into a lively, warm room where people from all cultures meet mainly to laugh, play backgammon, and share stories, all whilst eating delicious dishes.
Sohbet is a non-judgemental place for people to come together and share much more than language (food!). That's why we're inviting you to a Turkish delight of all nights on Monday, the 19th of October to come, chat, and laugh.
