Soil Enhancement for Grazing Field Day

Join us for a practical field day at Padthaway exploring how compost, biochar and improved grazing management can enhance soil health, productivity and resilience in grazing systems.

Hosted by Phil Giles from Mulbarton Compost, participants will hear the latest results from a demonstration site investigating the impacts of varying compost and biochar application rates across both sandy and heavier soil types. You'll gain firsthand insights into soil health improvements, moisture retention, pasture performance and practical applications for your own farming enterprise.

Since the project's launch in July 2025, the site has been monitored to assess the benefits of soil amendments and management practices including multispecies plantings and controlled grazing. Phil will present data from soil analysis results and lead a paddock walk through the demonstration plots.
