Soil Microbiology workshop
Description
Under the Microscope: soil biology for growers
Join soil biologist Taryn Armstrong (Soil Land Food; Soil Food Web School certified lab tech) for a hands-on day learning to see what's living in your soil. We'll explore the soil food web and the microbes that drive nutrient cycling and plant health. Then you'll get on the microscopes to prepare and examine samples from your own farm.
Part of Bright Food Co-op's Grow, Gather, Graze series, which works to strengthen our local food system.
Tuesday 24 November, 9:30am–3:30pm, at Lomandra Farm, Bright. Lunch included. Limited to 6 growers.
Bring a couple of soil samples from your farm, plus any compost, compost tea or biological products you'd like to look at.
